Would you like me to move into a separate thread - just thinking it's great info and it may be easier for people to find in the future using the "search" function (perhaps "KZ900/1000 Rotor Noise")

Hello Wook,

sure, maybe it´s better, to made a new thread ;-)

i´was emailing woth Clay , and have tell him, that som, ething makes a "singing" noise left side on engine , ( Z1000 A2), you know, i have had the engine apart  5 weeks ago, incl. split the case,...
All brass/Copper washer are selfunderstanding in the right positions under starter flywheel and rotor assembly,...what i know is:   The cylindrical part of the left side on crank, ( between the cone and the left main bearing), were the needle bearing for the big starter gear rolls, is a little "under-measure" by wear of an defected rotor to starter freewheel damage last year, (i´ve bought the bike with that damage and have repaired it last summer). The rotor, frewheel and all other parts are ok, i´ve renew by better measurement the rubber damper to a 3*, so the play between the big wheel and main bearing is eliminated......still only that 2singin`-noise at any rpms...((maybe, my engine wants to be on stage in a singin`contest ??!  :-)

So, i assumed, the "noise" is coming from that "little much more play"  of the needle bearing on crank,...surface of the cranks cylindrical part under the bearing is ok, under measurement is tolerable i´ve decide,..so i have to live with that little noise about,..No reason for me, to install a new or other crank,(..with all the parts and big work behind!!!)
Greetings, Joe
