CV or VM on my GPZ550
24 Jul 2025 06:02
Just wanted some advice on carbs. I have two KZ 550, one month apart in age. One is an H and the other is a C model. The H came with CV carbs and no air box, the C has the T22 VM carbs on it. Would it be worth it to change the carbs to my H model, the C is more or less a parts bike. No plans to put the C back on the rd. Thanks

Personally, with a stock engine, I would pick the CV carbs. They will provide a more consistent fuel mixture, especially when suddenly whacking the throttle open. The more modern mechanical slide carbs, RS, CR, CRS, TMJ and such, come with accelerator pumps to compensate for that particular quirk.
