Partzilla shows PN 13168-1026 for 1976 KZ900 starter lever, however when I look it up pictures on eBay show something different? Pictures are what I have. And are all the springs for plungers the same for Z1 and KZ900? TIA

Yes, choke lifters plungers and related parts are same for VM26 and VM28, as far as I know. Might be some differences in the lever end handle from year to year.  Which would include Z1, KZ900, and KZ1000 up to 1980

Looking at different sites, mine look more like these PN 16068-014 which are listed for KZ650. They are definitely different than the ones on my 78 1000 and the ones on the VM28SC carbs on the KZ now.

Not sure, now. Partzilla shows 16063-003 for my 74 Z1A, which it has. I also have a set of VM28'S from a 75 Z1B that have the same lever, as does a VM26 set I have from a 77KZ1000A. So I assumed they all had the same number (!)
Maybe one of the carb experts here on KZR can shed some light.

Found a Kawasaki parts breakdown online while searching, and 16068-014 was listed for 1977 KZ900 A5 they appear exactly what I have on my carbs which I’m missing one of. Got an NOS one off eBay I’ll know in a few days if it’s correct.

They had 5 different versions of the choke lifters and 5 different rod/levers 1972 thru 1980 for the Kawasaki VM sets. You, albeit fuzzy photo, have the correct lifter for your 1976. First photo shows the second/third and 5th version of lifters. I have your style (kz900) but it's buried in a tupperware container. Second photo shows the 1st(rubber without marking)/second (removeable lever) and the KZ900 style lever with (marked choke) rubber pad. They also had the 1977-1980 solid versions, two different styles.

Left You a PM mvent. And for the curious and pertaining to why you/everyone it seems to have difficulty with those 28mm SC's. It's not hard to become overwhelmed, they kept changing designs/components every stinking year/split year.  From the ribless to end of the aluminum pulley1975 version, subtle/dramatic changes, gotta know what goes where. The KZ900 was much simpler but still funky, look for a sticky mechanism/spring in the slide lifter. This can cause an erratic carb sync. Note the one in first photo that won't rebound, supposed to because it's spring loaded. Last photo is just a sampling of the boxes of crap i have.

These are the levers/lifts I was referring to, Partzilla list all the same number for different years, clearly they are at least 3 versions.
