Re: RS34 and BS34 Choke Plunger Size Comparison
31 May 2025 06:49The raised ones are 10mm like most CV plungers. What about the diameter of the plunger? Are these "raised lip" plungers the same diameter as the regular BS34 plungers? Â
Â
The seals are larger though than the ones with the plain surface.

Re: RS34 and BS34 Choke Plunger Size Comparison
31 May 2025 07:42Hey Guy, you English blokes must love Viton, because the sheet I'm using came from there! Just waiting for someone on ebay to offer some 2mm grade B sheet. Ordering from an industrial supply store, half a planet away, sounds expensive!Don't know how bad you want this stuff Ed, below is details of a UK supplier that lists itÂNessism post=913089 userid=14026What about the diameter of the plunger? Are these "raised lip" plungers the same diameter as the regular BS34 plungers? Â
I went through my hoard of old plungers and replaced the rubber in all of them. Sort of proof of concept that I could do it effectively. I took a damaged VM and another BS plunger, cut the crimped edge off, then measured the cavity diameter. That helped greatly, in sizing the rubber donut. Wish I could find Viton grade B sheet here in USA, but it's elusive. I'm using grade A, which seems to work fine, but it's not as resistant to oxygenated fuels as the grade B stuff. Better than what was used 50 years ago, though. Â
