This morning I was on the way to work. Bike started up great, warmed up nicely. Then I hit the freeway, ran up to 65 without any problems at all. Then after about 5 minutes the bike seemed like it was "surging" it was just having problems keeping up at 65 so I slowed to 60 and still had problems. The revs never changed while this surging was going on. The bike just didnt have any more power. Once I got back onto the streets (35mph) things seemed fine again.

Then on the way home I was having problems getting off idle after stops, again once I got up to 2000 rpms it ran awesome. I didnt take the highway this time so I dont know if it was doing the surging thing again.

It was 39* out this morning and about 60* on the way home. Am I having main jet issues in the cold, and air screw issues in the warmer weather?

Thanks
DanO

Hi Dan,
Did the bike previously run fine? If so it has nothing to do with jet size or carb setup. I'd look to something that has changed like ignition degrading, or jets getting clogged or gas cap not venting.

If you are using a fuel filter, it may be time to change it.
