I think I'll keep it here for a few hundred miles.

Got my .9 air jets and 45 pilot jets. Plugs still look a little rich on the bottom. Gotta put them in, change the needles to the center position then re sync the carbs. This time I'll bench sync them with a 7mm drill bit. Should be easier to vacuum sync them and hopefully the adjustment screws will be more even this time. Should take all morning.

Steve, does your setup employ a filter in the air box?

My velocity stacks are wide open inside the air box, and I'm currently experimenting with a piece of Ramair filter media stretched over the intake snorkel opening, held in place with a zip-tie.
The engine seems to prefer the restriction to having more air available with the snorkel-cover removed. But there is also filter media that seal the stacks at the carburetor side, where more air must be getting pulled through as needed.

I have a K&N filter and added six vents on the back. Had to to the 127.5's. Starting all over again.

I may have to raise the needles a notch.

Changing from .8 to .7 air jets stopped the minor decel pop'n here. Nice to adjust the pilot jets without having to pull the bowls to change them. In my case I just pull the velocity stack air boots out from inside the air box, and access the air jets without having to remove the carbs. It takes about fifteen minutes to change them out, and put the stacks back on.

I may have to go another step down on the air jets too. I think I have some 130 main jets. Hard to tell being they were drilled out. They worked when I first got the carbs. I'll try them first.
