Hi again. irstly I'd like to know your opinion. I have pods and a 4-2 stock exhaust. My carbs are WAY too lean, the pilot screws(CV carbs) need to be almost out even for it to run with the choke on.

I need to adjust my needle. How many notches to you think I should move the clips to start? As well, what is the distance between clip grooves?

Thanks,
Robert

there are 3 seperate fuel circuts in each carb.
idle - pilot jet and mix screw 0-1/4 throttle
mid range- needle clip adjustment 1/4-3/4 throttle
hi speed- main jet 3/4 - wide open throttle

first all the float heights need to be set exactly the same and at the proper level.the spec is different from model to model.

start with that detail. at idle it does not matter much with filters on or off. idle screw settings vary a little but shoot for 1.5~3 turns from seated. if you are out of this range go back into the bowls and reset the float heights. you need more gas in the bowls from the description you gave.
As for the needle adjustment you should get fuel levels and pilot circut right before going on. if the pilot circut is wrong all other circuts will be off too.

I would do what trippivot suggests. I dont think those needles (Keihin CV 34) have clip grooves.
