Trouble deciding which size CR's

SO, Im pretty much settled on CR's. Cant decide/figure out which size though.

Currently, it looke like this.

light head porting, and 4 angle valve job

kerker 4-1 (may change to 4-2-1 later)

MTC 10.5:1 1075 pistons

May do mild aftermarket or 83-84 GPZ 1100 cams.

Im thinking 29's or 31's

anyone weigh in?

Yesterday on Ebay, searching "dragbike", there was a rack of FCR 29's listed. Very uncommon rack of carbs. Might be listed incorrectly but worth the effort to look at and contact the seller.

If they are in fact 29mm flat slides, they should "rock" on a small bore KZ.

To do the GPz11 cams in a KZ requires cam sprocket modifications for 2 bolt cams and also the use of Allen Head bolts to hole the cams.

Sprocket center bores need to be opened up. New mount holes drilled and slotted. Allen Head bolt heads need to be turned down a bit to clear the cam chain. You have to do that right or you'll have issues....

My guess is he's using a picture that doesn't match what he's selling as the Auction description states "MIKUNI VM 29 SMOOTH BORES SMOOTHBORES BORE".

On the elusive 29mm FCRs, lol, I sent the guy a message and mentioned that he had the wrong photo in his ad. Here is his response:
"my mistake, I will upload the photos when I get home later today"

On another note though, if you could buy a good set of 29s for anywhere around 4-450, consider yourself lucky. :woohoo:

im running cr 33s on a 1045, 10.5 to 1
old yosh 4 into 1 no baffle
velocity stacks on carbs
mild porting on head
stock cams
runs very strong top end
also runs a lot hotter then the mikuni 29s i have
im gonna take em off and put the 29s back on with a newish baffled kerker
ran the bike for about 2 months like this before storage
i dont like running it that hot all the time
but they did make a huge difference right from low to high revs
and look real purddy
but i wanna calm this bike down a bit and make it last
