Crank Case Filter Size

Hey all -

New to the forum, looks like a good crowd for sure!

I recently bought my first bike ($450), a '79 KZ650 SR and after a little electrical work it runs again! Here's the thing: I have a set of 4 pod filters to replace my airbox, and I've searched and searched for the size of the stock breather tube that comes from the crankcase breather opening back into the airbox. I'd like to use the current hose as my filter attachment and just couldn't get an accurate measurement by hand. So if anyone has used that setup, the help would be much appreciated!

Welcome aboard. Be sure to keep that stock airbox and the little brackets in a safe place. - you will need them later!

That's exactly what I'm planning! I know from other mechanical experiments that losing stock pieces will stop you dead in your tracks.

Take a look at the link I added to my previous posting; it has some good test info on pods.

Ah! So it does, I assumed from the title it was a joke that forum newbies ended up with and didn't download it. Looking through it now (work? bah!).

you could always use one of these crankcase breathers from Z1Enterprises

No need for a filter just let it vent to atmosphere, my 650SR has run like that with no trouble since the mid 80's.
I wouldn't put pods on it unless going full race mode, don't ask me how I formed that opinion
