The simple answer is to get a "Factory Service Manual" published by Kawasaki Heavy Industries. This book will be very helpful with many, many questions you probably have. They can be had on eBay for $5 to $50 dollars depending on the day and time.
You probably have TK22 carbs on your bike (Tekei brand) which are smoothbores. That's a place to start...good luck and you will not regret buying a manual!
