Could cut cardboard strips in 22mm and 24mm lengths, and see which one fits through the carb bore on the engine side near the throttle slide.

If they are stock carbs from a kz650 and have the accel pump they are vm24ss carbs. There were 2 models of the 650s that did come with vm22ss carbs but they did not have the accel pump. I have attached a pic of the 22s and 24s, the 24s are on top and do have the pump. One way to tell the difference between the 22s and 24s is that the 22s have an additional vent like opening on the intake side at about 10'olock(see the pic) that the 24s do not have.

I have also created a table of the carbs that came stock on the 650s and have attached it as well.
