Carb issue
28 Mar 2011 01:39
Hey guys,
I have a problem that has been troublesome for awhile now and I can't figure it out.
My bike has a hard time starting off the starter after I have been riding for awhile and stop to take a break. Even using the kick starter. I've noticed the fuel line is empting out, usually about 15mins,with the petcock off. Float level maybe? But if I jump it off a car battery with the starter,it starts with no problem. The battery is good, stator is charaging(14v at 3000rpms, no vacuum leaks.
it just bugs me that the fuel line is empting out and no gas on the ground. I have cleaned the carbs last year and just stored it with staybil in the tank this past year and cleaned the float bowls before storage and I didn't notice anything. The problem started before I cleaned them last year.
Thanks ,
Mike

Re: Carb issue
07 May 2011 02:05I just had a chance to work it the last few days. And you guessed right,it was the needle and seat, plus the float level was off. That helped to. I called Jeff Saunders @ Z1(THANK YOU BTW) and he refered me to Chad @ Sudco to order some needle and seats. Just ordered one for now cause it was the worst after checking everything,it started leaking out the overflow. Should have the part by Mon or Tues and we'll see what happens.wireman wrote: needle/seat?
Thanks again wreman and Jeff for your help and cooperation. It is greatly appreciated.
