Ok so I got to wonder if any body uses these kits on any of the street bikes cabs for tuning, or is it only a waste of time? Some guy's seemed to like them on their VM's in a sled. Cheap and there still selling them, so any body?

Here's the description:
* Converts a regular VM-type Mikuni carb to a high-performance power-jet-type carb
* Splits the functions of the main jet for smoother transitions from half to full throttle
* Installation instructions included
* Includes 80, 100 and 120 power jets
* Requires #36 and 5/32in drill bits, a 6-32 tap, flat file and hand tools for installation

Power jet carbs were used primarily in 2 strokes. In a way, they can suffer the same fuel delivery dilema.

Those were later remodeled and introduced as "dial a jet" Anybody remember those?

Here is the Dial A Jet Link:

This is for the external type.
Couldn't find much on the old Mikuni Hex replacement that was an adjustable main jet orifice, 6 sizes if I remember, not a needle screw, but a turntable of sorts.

The 34s will be perfect , when your puny little snuff huffer (funtified timing on cams, comes on with a bang at 2grand, stops breathing shortly after the thrill of the pull) is out of breath my mighty motor will inhale a giant gulp of air, exciting turbulance through the internal circuits that mix the gas, providing an extremely well mixed and atomized vapor getting sucked into the intake stream, but the head's not done yet! The flow volume and velocity are coming to their peak, The cam timing is supporting this at the desired rpm and torque curve, awesome acceleration, and I did it myself, now to wait for the others to catch up. Their excuse is always, I ran out of rpm, It don't rev to the moon ya know, and theres always a smart one in the crowd who'd say, Whad you say that cam is again, :woohoo:

More air!
More speed!
More power!
Hands down!

It's gotta come fast, and it's gotta come hard AND It has to be alot, my .02 or was that four?

For that VVVVVVV RUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMM
This winter I'm evolving my bike into a newer faster stronger FIGHTER so it can fight with the future
To do that it has to be armed and dangerous.,
S0 it will be. It's like cookin up slop. Put a bunch of stuff together, you never know what your gonna get. But it's always good.

Got three days off and it's time to get stuff done.
Just have to keep reminding myself it will be fast and painless.

and fast too.. Baaa waba

Alright I gotta ask the question... For my 82 LTD cruiser, I see there is a DynoJet kit for the BS34's. Keep in mind this is a daily driver with stock airbox (K&N Filter), with stock exhaust. Any benefit in going with the kit, or just keep them stock with some rejetting if necessary? Anyone have experience with these DynoJet kits?

Second part.. I do have a rack of VM26's that I could rebuild for this bike. Pros / Cons / Issues ?

Thanks,

You know what, I don't have a one to some other number of douche-bag scale. So.. Six!

If you keep the airbox, then no need for the Dyno Jet Kit. If you go to Pods then that is where you will find some base jetting. Going to 26mm would mean different carb holders/ manifolds, loss of top end air flow/ power.
I've also got an 82 LTD. I run BS34's, stock airbox, Vance & Hines pipe, I went from the 37.5 pilot to 40's. I also went from the 122 mains to 127.5, even though I'm at 6200ft. Needles are stock, non adjustable without adding shims, which I haven't. I have up graded to Accel Coils also. I went up a tooth on the counter shaft sprocket, and down 1 tooth on the rear for a taller ratio. I got 50mpg on a 3600mi round trip, Colorado- Seattle. All with Vetter, Bags, racks, gear, & me.

It's Friday. It's cold. I've got precious little sleep in the last 36 hours or so and I still say they're boat anchor material on anything except a stock J motor.....

JMO and it's not going to change :woohoo:
