my little 1327 ltd/z1 clone ran a best of 6.18 at 113 and change with no wheelie bar at the local 1/8 last summer with an ancient set of 33s and then managed a 500 mile round trip through ne/kansas a week later with just a simple rear wheel/sprocket swap.otakar wrote:

It's exactly about mid range punch. The PUNCH you want when you roll that throttle on and the bike comes on the cam. That's exactly where BS34's will rear their ugly teeth where as a good rack of smooth bores will give you a woody..
I'll wager 95% of the members here have never ridden a seriously fast street bike. If they did, this stupid topic would't keep coming up :woohoo:

Can you imagine if you could have put the BS34's on it instead of those junk smooth bore mikuni's  ?
It might have dipped into the 5's :woohoo:

I gotta serious (well as serious as I can get) question. This mid-range bog everybody refers to.when does it come on?when I had my bike dynoed,it pulled hard right up till the rev limiter shut it off at 9500.I didnt see any flat spots in the graph, nor have I experienced any on the street.Does it only happen at WOT at a certain place in the power curve or certain rpm range or what? Thanks.bj

Power jet carbs were used primarily in 2 strokes. In a way, they can suffer the same fuel delivery dilema.
Those were later remodeled and introduced as "dial a jet" Anybody remember those?

BJ... you get first shot at this. I'm building a 1075 Motor. The owner bought new RS34s. I do believe he's interested in selling the stock 34mm CV Mikunis. Holler if you're interested.
They out to be worth $150.
