Well said and true. They can be tuned to give fantastic performance, but it is more difficult than slide carbs, and required lots more testing time depending on the engine/bike combo.

B)

I completely disagree. The CV carburetors are the most forgiving. If you know what you are doing you can have them set up in minutes.

I was thinking the same.
I want to put them on a 1015cc will they line up?
If they don't I'd be willing to make them, but only if they are "more refined" than the 1000bs's

I'm actually gitting sick of talking about this! :S
I just want to put them on.

Walt,

You are absolutely correct :) It's when guys try to put them on performance builds that the headaches can creep in. Then I see them dump hundreds of dollars into a set

And after all that money has been spent....what have you really got to show for it? Spend the extra coin. Buy brand new RS or CRS if you want to go fast and not have to dink around....

This says it all

Thanks for the good replies :) I'm satisfied with the bs 34's and don't even own a set yet. How can I tell if the carbs I look over are from a gpz? Last question I swear! I'll make up for it in another post though  If I see a gpz on the road I'll hide my bike under a bridge till it passes over. I'll pull up next to it and yank the carbs off with a coat hanger. Friend had them on his bike. First day out he was at a seaside tavern having one. The ship's captains' were looking at each other and nodding over their shoulder. He seen two guys go out the side door. When he got to his bike it was too late. The bs 34's were gone.

Yea Baby...they're right up your alley ;)

This is my GPz1150 with .420 lift cams and ported head. she moves like a bat-auta-hell. Will the BS34s compare to the top notch smooth-bores for drag strip use? NO. But they are one of the best street carbs around.

You don't get it either... well you sort of get it:) It's not about the drag strip at all...PERIOD

It's exactly about mid range punch. The PUNCH you want when you roll that throttle on and the bike comes on the cam. That's exactly where BS34's will rear their ugly teeth where as a good rack of smooth bores will give you a woody..

I'll wager 95% of the members here have never ridden a seriously fast street bike. If they did, this stupid topic would't keep coming up :woohoo:

I am a 5 percenter too. My KLR has a CVK40, that puppy puts out so much power, roll on the throttle and watch out you might pass a pedestrian!
