I am still fine tunen my kz 700 and would like to know if anyone has found a cheep source for these vaccume slides in the top of the bs 34mm ..

what is a better carb i have been told for better throtle responce i would want flat slides or any manual slide carb.?
what is a carb that would alow me to go from the 700 cc to a 715 to a 810 late in this bikes life . i know that the rs 34mm is suposed to be an up grade but isnt that to much carb for my stock bike with no real head work ??

A little while back I got a good used set of slides for my BS-38 Mikunis from a parts dismantler online. I think I paid $80. I've had pretty good luck with them.

I don't know about putting on different carbs. The intake/exhaust are tuned so tight and matched to the carb flow characteristics.

If you are interested in just the diaphragms, contact these people:

www.motorradbay.de/main/lang.php?cw=1

If the actual slides are bad, then eBay is your source. :)

The BS34 is already a very large carb for the 700-800cc engine. These carbs are perfect for engines in the 1000-1200cc engine size. They have an accurate sweep area of 735mm/2 that is equivalent to a 31.5mm smooth-bore carb. Most people have determined that a 29mmSB is the ideal size for a 1000-1100cc motor, and that a 33mmSB is way too large. If you want a manual slide carb for your bike that would be perfect than a 26-28mm carb from a KZ1000 would work very well and would bolt right on. The BS34s mounted on the 750s are way detuned to work well on the bike.

Thanks for all the info havent found my bs rubbers on that site guess I will have to look alittle harder whan I get home .. I do not think the slides are bad but the rubber is like 26 years old and wore out.

So my bs 34 mm are good carbs ?? guess i will just have to learn to love them lol. I do like the rs 34 flat slides and herd they had alot more throttle response .But i can use that 800 bucks on head porting and cams or a new pipe.

Yeah...I didn't look closely enough...they apparently don't carry them. However, if your bike has Mikuni BS34's, then you can use the diaphragms from the 1982 KZ750R1, which also uses the same carbs (different jetting). The site below does carry them, but they are pricey.

Do your diaphragms have holes in them? If so are they pin holes or are they torn? Please show us a picture of the worst one you have.

Yeah, but on most of the rubbers they require you send them the slides and let them install them. That was my gripe, not the price. I didn't want to risk losing good slides in the mail going across the pond.
