BS34 Slide Choke Won't Stay Closed!

The choke closes fine, and pops into the correct position. But with vibration or a slight twist of the choke nob the plunger slides out on its own.

It leads to a temporary flooding/hesiation situation that is very annoying...

Any suggestions?

Maybe I should drill a little hole thru the other end and put a clip-pin in there... LOL!

Are the spring and ball catches still in place? Very small, and very important. If not, you could add a spring to keep the lever in and only hold it out by hand to start.

Havn't had a chance to check...

Adding a spring to the lever sounds right up my alley.
Thanks!

I'll have to check the Suzuki set I have. The ones from the gpz750 use two very small balls and two small springs that fit in a little notch on the pull shaft. I think there are two of them to make sure to hold it open or closed.

LOL, I've already done that... maybe a new set is in oder for next year. :P

There actually starting to run pretty good now after a few more tweaks...

i fixed the choke lever problem temporarily. The rod was slick with lube which let it squirm out under vibration. I simply blasted the whole thing with brake cleaner, now it stays in place fine.
