Fuel T inlet replacment

Has anyone replaced their fuel inlet T fitting on Mikuni carbs? Mine is toast and the gaskets are part of the fitting. I'm considering going to the hose/hydrolic shop and getting 2 90degree fittings up on and running L & R inlets to the carb banks as the part is no longer available. Is there any reason not to do this?

If they are leaking, you can use teflon-tape to reseal them.

Yes, but they are 24mm carbs. Gasoline won't eat teflon tape?

This might help at Mike's XS.com they sell "T"s and the flat gaskets for the XS 650. Go to "Fuel System- Gas Tanks,Gas Caps,Petcocks,Parts. Scroll down...and down..almost to the end.
Its for the BS 34 carbs. PN# 48-0885 for the gaskets 2/ $1,48-0884 for the brass "T" and 2 gaskets. Worth checking out
I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress
