teflon and gas
05 Jul 2009 22:55
After the last time cleaning tank, pulling petcock, reinstalled ,fresh petro and put teflon tape around threads on petcock for seal, teflon is being eaten away by gas looks like it might start leaking anytime. Question is is there something else that can be used to seal, and make sure no leaks happen ? ?

Some say the yellow Teflon tape is gas resistant. But don't use the white.

Iron Duke, Petcocks of the spigot variey seal via a rubber seal from spigot to body and are secured with a l/h-r/h threaded nut. bolt on Petcocks seal via a goofy bridged o ring/gasket and shouldered bolts using either plastic or fibre washers. all should be avail. stock or from Z1 ent.Personaly have no faith in tape or sealers living in gas envirne, luck G
