1976 KZ 900A4 Airbox Question

So I tried selling my '76 KZ on Craigslist AND EBay and got no serious offers. Try as I might, I can't bring myself to part out a running bike! So I thought I might try to change out the cheapo EMGO pod air filters I have on it to see if it ran any better. Unfortunately, my original airbox was discarded back in '96 when I first took the bike apart - what a dummy I was!!!

Is there any inter-changeability between models or do I have to get an airbox from a 1976 KZ 900? Someone on EBay has an airbox from a '78 KZ 1000 and they claim it will work on my model.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks...

The 1976 KZ900 airbox was only used on the 1976-77 KZ900 line. A 1978 is not the same part. It may be possible to modify to make work, but no telling what differences they have.

Thanks for the info - I figured it was a year-specific part. For now I won't be parting it out...
