Mikuni VM26 jet question

I have a perennial gremlin that plagues one of my KZ1000's. Pulled the carbs the other day and was re-cleaning all the jets and then decided to clean all the spare jets I have. I noticed that the air jets had 17.5 embossed on the side while other spare jets had no embossing on the sides but 17 embossed on the top of the jet next to the screwdriver slot. I assume these are the same jets??? and it was a function of room to do the embossing?

I think they are the same jets. I remember reading recently in a post (wiredgeorge maybe) that sudco replacement jets do not had the .5's listed but are the same jets.

It was an old post I found doing a search for something else.

If it wasn't him I'm sure he knows anyway.
