What kind of pods are these?

Another bike of mine came with these pods which I installed on my project which is having cold start problems. I just assumed they were Emgo but from photos they look more and more like K&Ns. The end of the chrome cover doesn't say "K&N" on them but the mounting flanges do have a bit on an angle on them and they feel a little small for the KZ650 carbs.

They look and feel _really_ old.. like 10+yrs.

If they are K&Ns then I need to oil them, which I hope has not caused my lean condition and difficult cold starting.

The filters do indeed look like K&N's. I'd pull them off, soak them with dishwashing soap, rinse, and after drying, lightly re-oil them with the K&N spec oil(not too much as a little goes a long way on those filters).

They look like the K&Ns I had some years back.
I've sold them since, so can't compare.
I do recall they did not say K&N on them.
