idle help
07 Mar 2009 10:36
Having trouble idling down. I have a 77 kz650c, 4-1 exhaust, pod filters. electronic ignition. I put 26mm carbs from a kz900 on and i cant get the bike to idle down. I put the same jets in it that i was running on the original carbs. (102.5) Also when i roll onto the throttle the engine bogs down and stalls out. I have fresh carb boots so I am pretty sure that there is no vacuum/air leak. The bike ran and idled well with the old 24mm carbs this problem is specific to the 26mm carbs. Any ideas?

Please describe what you mean by quote idle down unquote. It is hard to figure out what that means. Also, put the KZ900 jets back in. The VM26 came with 17.5 pilot jets, jet needles clipped to 3rd slot 5DL31-3 and 115 main jets. What is the ID mark. It is a small mark stamped into the flange of the carb where it enters the bracket that joins all four carbs and is under the choke lever (to confirm type of carburetor). Describe your carb holders, airbox set up, etc. What is a carb boot? Thanks wg
