Manuel Petcock trouble

i love this site very much. Well i have a 1977 KZ750B Twin and im going over it to get her running good and i took of the petcock from tank and took it apart and replaced rubber gaskets ect. Well when i put it back on i got the on,off,reserve switched around. The reserve is off, off is on and on is on lol. I tried takeing the dial off and trying to get it back the way it was and im haveing no luck at all. Its all screwed up now, i just gave up. Is their a reference point where the little plastic peice has to be turned before u put the dial on?? o and now it seems fuels only comeing out of one hose instead of both ??? u would think it would flow from both. does the motor have to be on for both hoses to flow?? Thanks for the help guys

You have the plastic tumbler in 180 degrees out. Just remove the handle...turn the tumbler 180 and put the handle back on. Should be fine!!
