I took my carbs off as the #1 won't stop leaking. I wanted to take the float off so i can pull the needle and seat but, the float pin seems to be swaged in. How do i pull the pin so nothing gets damaged? I think the float might be bad as the black stuff seems to be coming apart. Any help? Thanks Todd

Todd, welcome to the KZR Nation... you must be one of the smart and or cautious ones and it just paid off. 
I have read posts of guys trying to knock the pin out with a punch and hammer with disastrous results. Apparently, one or both of the supports breaks off and it’s the end of the carb.
Luckily for me all my pins are free and easy to remove. My objective here was preemtive post to may sure you didn't get into deeper trouble. Someone who has had this problem and successfully resolved it will swing by with his solution.
In the meantime, you can search the site for post dealing with this problem.

They won't push out, i tried to pry on the head of the pin a little and it bent the head a little, telling me that it's going to take some force but i'm not about to hammer them.That's why i asked here, figuring some one has dealt with this and knew how to remove them without damage.So i can't replace the float until i can take out the old. I have another ?. How is the alcohol gas affect jetting? i believe these are orignal jet's being 107.5's Should i go to a 110 or more? Todd

I doubt 107s were ever used stock. Largest VM24 main would be 102.5. As far as removing the pin, on the VM series carb, the reason the pin sticks is that someone has used vise grips or pliers and deformed the pin. If the float isn't any good. cut the float using a cut off wheel on a Dremel tool and remove about 1/2" from the middle section. You can then slide off the remaining float part and only the pieces left from the pin will be sticking out. At this point, you can tape the pin pieces from the inside of the supports a bit and see if they will just move on out; they usually will but if not, take a set of vise grips and rotate the pin inside the post holding the pin and this will loosen the pin up where you can tap it out. This is an extremely common problem on Mikuni BS32/34 carbs on a Suzuki where about 1/2 the posts are broken from "tapping" on the pin.

According to the owners manual the carbs are bs32's and they measure 32mm so I think thats what they are. Is there any markings to positively ID them? They have the round vacum can tops. Todd

manufacturing date is 10/81. The data tag says H1 the back of the owners manual says H2. The original title says 1981.I must have a model switch over bike. I had a Toyota landcruiser that was a 78-79 model it didn't match either years manual. Todd

Hmmm thought the 81 CSR had VM24s... OK. The float pins on the BS series carbs are a bit tighter than VM. Take a punch and gently tap the pin... if it moves a bit, you can use a pin punch to gently tap it out. If not, cut through the float and pin and remove the way I suggested for the VM24 carb.
