Hoses Hanging Around
28 Jul 2008 18:02
Ok, I put the carbs back on my bike, and I have four hoses hanging down from the bottom of the carbs, and I have one clear largish diameter on the far right side, top of the carb (as in, if you're sitting on the bike, it'd be right by your right knee). I have the gas tank hooked up to the carbs with the hoses from the petcock, so whats the deal with these other ones??
Is there an install guide someone can point me out to?

Might possibly a vacuum hose? You need to provide more info on the bike. Also are these stock carbs?

I agree if the hoses are coming off the very bottom of the bowls they are overflow lines. I don't know if you still have it or not but on my 650 there is a rubber loop on the right side of the frame just behind the engine that they pass through as they hang over the rear of the engine.

I believe the hoses from the far left and far right (side, top) are vacuum hoses. On a stock setup they would be connected at a T and then routed into a larger pipe going forward under the tank and back into the airbox. I have mine going directly into the top/front part of the airbox.
The hoses coming out below the carbs would go into the friendly ports under the airbox.
I live in Flint, MI, and believe me, there's lots of hoes hanging around here, too.
