29 smoothbore- fuel service level?

I don't what the fuel service level is for 29 smoothbores. I'm attempting to adjust now but the tang on the float has to be bent up quite a bit to get to 3mm from base of carb.

Never mind... adjusted them to 3mm, polished the needles and seats , took her for a test run... runs like a raped ape now!!!! (74 Z1). The fuel sevice level as we got the bike was 0mm!!!! No wonder it wouldn't get up and go!!!

However if someone DOES know the actual fuel sevice level, let me(us) know. Pat

There is a special tool for that. I think you can get one through z1 enterprises.
Same tool for early 73-74 28mm carbs and 29's carbs.
Or if you have a extra float bowl plug you can drill it and install a hose nip.
add clear hose and your good to go

I used a cork and black tape, drilled a small hole through the cork and inserted a 3/16 nylon coupler and clear tubing, worked like a charm.

Sorry no extra parts.

Anyone got a fuel service level?

Thanks, Pat

I don't think Mikuni ever published the service fuel level. I suspect it is 3~4mm.
