Hi!

I have a -83 LTD 750 and i wonder what size I should choose if I would put in a larger mainjet? One or two steps up from stock? I also wonder how to adjust float level the right way? I used this link when I did it the last time, but it differs a bit from how it's decribed in my repairmanual.

www.factorypro.com/tech/float_height_adj_procedure.html

Thanks in advance/Jan

Are you having problems with your current jetting? If you are putting pods and a exhaust on your bike you will need to rejet. You have to look at your plug color and see what they look like and describe what you are looking to get out of different jets. If you go up too much you will run rich and foul plugs, too small and you will be lean and burn a valve.

The only way to check main jetting is by running at wide open throttle, hit kill switch and coast to stop, pull plugs and read center electrode for colour. Black too rich, white too lean, nice dusty brown perfect. You can fiddle with pilot jets, air jets and needle position to fine tune, but after 1/2 throttle you should be on main jet. For exhaust and air intake mods go up 2 sizes at least. You may have to go up one more, just as much chance of needing to go down one more.

Thank You both for your answers.

The plugs is more gray than white or brown. I have stock aircleaner but a third party set of mufflers, straight thru, just a smaller diameter in the mufflers. What is pods? I'm from sweden and I don't know the swedish word for it.

Pods are single air filters for each carb intake. See the picture.
