Is it safe to use the dip type cleaners for my carbs? I know some outboard carbs I deal with cannot be done this way due a porosity coating on them. I am working on a '78 KZ650.
Also, I see a couple of different brands of repair kits out there on the net. Which is the best value? And who has best price?

Yes dipping is the typical treatment, though you will likely loose the paint if yours are factory painted.

Use Berrymans carb cleaner, and do not dip the whole carb, take them apart and make sure all the rubber parts are out of them. Berrymans and probably the others eat the rubber.

Z1 Enterprises has carb kits, $17.34ea

Spent all day cleaning the carbs, and ordered 4 K&L kits from Z1 Enterprises. Also ordered some new airbox ducts and an airfilter.
Thanks for the help.

Fun wasn't it? Wait till you get this bike running sweet. The 650's run like the wind, so smooth and fast. I love mine:)
