I was looking at the homemade air intake idea thread and wondered if the "electric tubo" blowers I see on Ebay could be fitted like this? Any idea if this would give any HP benefits? I have seen them for as low as $45 on there for just the blower. Flip a switch and a little power boost? They say they are rated for about 3PSi of boost. Not much I know. But would it be noticeable at all?

Wouldn't you have a boat-load of problems turbocharging a carburated engine? Wouldn't the boost blow your diaphrams open and the fuel out of your float bowls? That is the understanding I have about forced induction on a carburated bike...but I am not 100% certain.

i was going to run twin leaf blowers on mu bronco smokeshow truck but never got around to it, the intake hoses were perfect for it and they fit right in needing only a hose clamp

i'd say any type of forced induction helps, however being constant it could cause it to idle high and depending on your application it could hamper the high end.

ie small blower on a big motor

Your Bronco is probably electronically fuel injected though...and you'd still need to some-how control your fuel airmixture some way.

The motors that power these blowers do not have enough power to make 3PSI STATIC boost into a closed container, never mind maintaining 3PSI at an intake.

If the bilge pumps/fans that are sold on ebay as blowers actually worked as a blower on automtive/ motorcycle applications, you would see them on more things other than just Ebay.

TANSTAAFL!!

Those things are absolutely useless when it comes to forcing pressurized air into a motor. They do a good job evacuating gasoline fumes from a bilge though :)
