Hello everyone,
I have just posted a note here about installing an inline gas shutoff due to a leaking vacuum assisted petcock, apparently a common problem on these old KZ's...but realizing this is only a temporary fix I want to solve this problem permanently.
My question to the forum members: I have read that some have purchased an aftermarket petcock (Pringle?) with some success after modification. Others have mentioned that a Suzuki vacuum-assisted petcock (Avail fron Z-1) is a "bolt-on" replacement.
Is this so? Will the Suzuki model really bolt right on w/o modification?
Has anyone here installed the Suzuki valve? What are your thoughts about this model, is it reliable?
I would like to hear some comments from those who replaced their petcocks with either the Pringle or Suzuki types, whether they fit well and are of acceptable dimensions to fit. They Suzuki model looks very different and I am concerned that it either won't fit or that the gas line routing won't work.

There are a few of us that have used the Suzuki petcock from, Z1.

I just followed the instruction from a previus post on this site. You have to take apart the new petcock and rotate the plate so that the everything clears properly when the tank is on the bike. It was very simple to do.
It's been working flawlessly.
