Ok, I know ,if it ain't broke, leave it alone! Well, I decided to take my carbs off to clean out the guts. Why ? Because ..... I don't know why. Anyhow, I gave my ride a tune-up, new fuel filter, timed and oil change for the new season. Now I get on to ride and set the choke, it starts as it should. But instead of holding a high idle, like it use to, it quickly drops till it almost dies. I have to use the throttle to keep it idling. Tried adjusting idle, but too erratic. Idles jumps high then low. Now what it does is that when I let go off the throttle, it revs around 2500 a few seconds 5-10, then drops to a rough idle. I've sprayed carb cleaner around all intake rubbers. No change in idle. Carb linkage has good slack, maybe too much? I rode it a mile in 4 th staying around 4-5000 rpms, took plugs out , black and wet. Running rich but it wasn't before I touched the carbs. I didn't mess with the pilot idle air screw, but shouldn't make it run rich, right? I ran Seafoam in it before the ride, 8 oz in full tank about 2 gallons. Perhaps timing off? Valve clearances done cold, they're set ok. Carbs are stock, again no problem before but got 'em now! Thanks in advance!
