I just took out my carbs and cleaned them and I got the carbs in place without any probs like on my 650. I took out the carbs on my 81kzltd1000 and I ran in to a big problem. How did you guys get the 2 outer air box hoses back on the carburetor. I got the 2 inner ones on because I put the hoses on first and push them in the airbox so that when I put on the carbs and I put those on, I just push my hand in the airbox and push them back out on to the carbs. NOW i AM ALL MESSED UP WITH THE OUTER ONES COS THE AIRBOX ONLY HAS A OPENING TO THE CENTER 2. Sorry about the caps, I wasn't shouting, I am just typing frantically. How did you guys get the outer hoses on? By the way, the hoses are brand new, Thank God!

sometimes you can get a piece of wire between the rubbers and the carb bodies and work it around to open the boots enough to get them started.make sure your clamps are loose and try spraying a little carb cleaner in the boots to loosen them up.;)

Not the rubber carb holders on the engine side, I mean the air hoses coming from the airbox

Fold the spring end back over its self. Install other end in air box. Hold against carberator and roll spring ends onto carburator intake. Position springs and done.

I got one of the outer ones on, then tried the other one but it was too late in time cos I just came home and its cold, so I caught one of the hoses before the cold hardened it, but the other one was to cold and stiff to get tonight. I had to pul them out and put them back in from the outside of the airbox and peel them back as HWMS said. Thanks man, and also thanks to you wireman, yes I am using a wire but in a different fashion, using it to push the hose into the airbox
