Gas Valve Positions was created by sueoles
Last summer whan my son came home on leave, we surprised him with a restoration of his 1979 Kawasaki KZ650. After many hours of my hunting the internet for parts, my husband installing new parts and cleaning and tuning up the bike, he was amazed when he came home and saw his "new" bike. Anyway, there is one thing we can't locate in the technical manual. What are the correct positions of the gas valve for On, Off, and Reserve? Our local Kawasaki dealer wouldn't help us with that one - believe it or not!

If the petcock says "ON", "OFF" & "RES", then it's like this:
ON: toggle is pointing DOWN
OFF: toggle is pointing FORWARD
RES: toggle is pointing UP
The valve in the picture is in the OFF position.
Oh, and welcome to the site!
