I noticed there are already a couple of posts on people asking where to get carb parts etc (other than direct from kawasaki).

Since I am about to go thru the same process myself I was wondering if it would be worth while sorting out a FAQ or something for each model of carb used, the parts and their part numbers - mainly so that at least us nubs know what to order when we do need to go to a bike dealer.

Anyhow, on my kz440 the carbs are marked 1281 TD15 and are 36mm Keihin CV units. I need to order a new slide diaphragm as the one in #2 carb is split and the slide is not lifting properly. Does anyone know the actual make and model that the carb is so that I can look around for alternate sources (ie. other bikes).

Also, the jet kit listed on the Z1 enterprises site for the kz440 is different (missing a jet) from whats in my machine - hence it would be easier if I knew the part numbers.

Kawasaki has an area on their web page listed as "Owner information". With a bit of searching you can find the all the parts diagrams for your ride. Here is the URL

OK so once again I have unsuccessfully post a link!! Go to:

www.buykawasaki.com

and on the left sidebar you will see "Owner Info" select that and the from the dropdown select part diagrams. Search for your bike.

Thanks for that - I found the Kz440Ltd which uses pretty much the same carb - so have part numbers at least.
