One of the previous owners (genius) of the GPZ motor I have had a wonderfull idea of spray painting the engine and carbs black. The engine I am going (except scrape the top fins end back to metal) to leave but the Carbs look like stuff.

Is there a way that is safe to strip it off of the carbs with out dis-assembling and won't damage any of the parts?

I need to proof read more before hitting submit.

not really.. it would be tough to get inbetween the carbs, plus if the product you use will remove paint, what will it do to the rubber boots, fuel line, vacume line etc. not mention the rest of the bike needs to be protected..
bite the bullet.. take em off and do it the right way.

The paint usally comes off easily. Try some brake fluid with a paint brush. Roy

Figured, anything that would remove paint would attack the rubber. Carbs are off, gonna get a crash course in carb rebuilds. Ebay here I come.

WG, may be talking to you soon. :(

The rocket scientist who painted the carburetors is Kawasaki bwhahaha There is NO safe way to strip those things without disassembling. The only real good way I know is to disassemble them totally and remove everything that melts then dip them in strong carb cleaner. If you try ol' Roy's brake fluid method you will make a mess of them. You can't get to the back plate/carb holder nor into cracks good.

Then I have to say there was more than one genius behind this bike. I've shaved the top fins down to metal (right side only), gonna have to do something with the points cover. Glanced at Corey's bike for resto example. But there is additional paint on the right hand side of the carbs. I'm gonna leave it alone, get the bike back together and see how it runs.

Thanks George! Hope you went easy on the turkey.
