Engine stand

The time has finally come to have a go at painting my engine.I'm going to need and engine stand for cleaning it and painting and I'll need to pop it in the oven to cure,so a metal stand will be best.Has anybody got plans/drawings/dimensions for a stand. Its for a 1981 CSR1000. I think the J model engine.Thanks.
 

Are planning on putting the entire engine in the oven?

I have a K&L engine stand.  Only used it a few times in the last 20+ yrs.  It is expensive though!  I think Wookie may have made an adapter for an automotive engine stand….?

I'm cutting down a spare frame to make a 400/440 engine stand

It will be really simple, with two horizontal pieces of (probably) 1.5" square mild steel tubing under the engine for lateral stability
 

Yes the whole thing will go in the oven,so I need something small and basic. Don't need a rotisserie type, just bolt on the engine mounts front and back. I'm sure I saw plans somewhere a few years ago. When the front mount is loosened the whole engine flips over on the back mounts and vice versa to access the underneath. Maybe I dreamt it.

What temp are you planning on baking the engine?  I’d be very wary of going higher than 250-300°F.  Most rubber parts aren’t really made for sustained high temps ie Nitrile is good up to 250°F working temp. Just my 2¢.

What I understand from the VHT website is 90 degrees Centigrade (194 Farenheit) for 20 minutes. What's your opinion on that?

I wish I had purchased the stand the first time I saw it advertised years ago. It is quite pricey now. 

You must have a big oven ? what paint are you planning to use ? I used "air dry" cerekote so no baking required

   A member here was fabricating & selling a bench stand very similar to that one  ~15 yrs. ago.  Completely adjustable for a wide variety of motors.  Rotates.  Breaks down easily for comapct storage.   We bought one & have been satisfied with it for Z1 motors.  Don't remember price or user name.  A cursory KZR search doesn't find it, but we'll keep looking.

   This is the stand the  KZR member fabricated w / Z1 bottom end mounted.  We see The Lovely Z1BEBE, a.k.a. the shop's resident Torque Monster while in one of her preferred habitats,  gently fondling case bolts to their proper torque.


   Just for tool junkie giggles, here we see stand kits offered by Mama Kaw in the day.   The PN's don't come up in any retail documentation we've ever read, only distributor news docs not generally available to the public.  We've never seen any in the flesh.

Okay, this is odd: for giggles I googled 'kawasaki' and '56019-103', the part number for the engine stand base.

It came up as a factory piston pin puller:  www.speedsupplies.com/parts/kawasaki-56019-103.htm   

Further googling for 56019-111 (the engine adapter kit to go with the base) seems to indicate it's a "boot remover" for a 400: www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-kz400s3-special-1...over-boots_56019111/   In the CMSNL diagram it looks like a simple rod with a small hook on the end.
