KZ Engines
20 Nov 2006 17:07
Hey guys, My question is will a
KZ750 block match up with the mounts on an 81' KZ
550 frame? Or better yet, what engines will fit that frame if I find one. My engine needs an overhaul. just curious.
Thanks
Joe

A 550 will line up just fine, anything else is going to need some modifications

I have one I was thinking of parting with, but I paid $100 for it a long time ago. Cincinnati is quite a haul, if you were closer it might be worth it. You can probably get one on ebay for around $50, but may have to wait til summer when people start parting stuff out.

I haven't checked the condition on the motor yet even though I've had it for a few years. I don't know how many miles are on it. I'd like to get my money out of it, otherwise I can use it for parts. I'm in Chicago.
What's wrong with the motor you have now.

the motor I've got now:
1. Leaks oil out of every gasket that it has.
2. I took it to two different mechanics and they said because of the miles (20354) it probably has bad rings and pistons, and thats why it bubbles out the block gasket
3. It just need some TLC and I'm in college and I don't have the time or place to tear it down and give it my attention.
Any suggestions?
