I am looking for an engine diagram with a parts breakdown for my KZ650. Anyone know if there is such a thing floating around out there?

Kellen, will this work? I have one for my Z1; it's been invaluable. Good luck with your project.

www.buykawasaki.com

click "owner info" on left side
next page - click "parts diagrams" on right side

next page - you can do a search for your bike by model information...personally have never had any luck trying to use the VIN search. select yr and CC size, then "all" and "all" under product type and marketing name. it will come up with a list of bikes - select yours and you will soon be viewing any parts diagram related to your bike that you want to see.

Good luck with your project

for a nice wide open diagragm go to bikebandit.com. It helps alot and the pics are clear depending on if you have a fairly updated monitor. I go there to see other diagragms

What heartless said.

Seem to remember reading somewhere that the "older" bike VIN numbers are not recognized in the Kawasaki.com site, and neither my 73Z1 nor 900ltd VIN was recognized, so I navigate per the heartless method.

Agree the bikebandit site is a good easy to navigate site ... has a KZ900A but I didn't see a KZ900B (the LTD model)

Question? what would be the difference excepth different carbs. I mean you can still relate to it, they have the same theory. But you are also rite

You know -- all that 1976 super cool innovative limited edition rice burner chopper stuff such as dual front disks, rear disk, fuel tank, front signal lights, Jardine exhaust, headlight mount, fenders, side cover badges, seat, grab rail, no center stand, Morris mags,
handlebars, 16 inch rear wheel, chain guard, petcock,
and undoubtedly others momentarily slipping the mind. :)

Have a look-see and marvel at the Original Kruise King

Alas, once again spinning off into apoplexy regarding chassis differences when the topic is engine diagram, and besides the carbs, I do believe and agree the engines are otherwise identical in both the KZ900A and KZ900B models.
