Hello all,

I'm trying to do some exhaust header work on my '82 kz750 and I'm replaced in the copper crush gasket, collars and flanges on the header but the replacement collars I ordered (twice, a set from Z1 enterprises and a second from Partzilla) are waaaayy to small (silver in the pictures). The ones I pulled off the engine are the darker, much larger ones.
Any one have any ideas why either a) mine are so big, and/or b) why the OEM replacements are so small.
Thanks in advance.

All KZ750-4s would have come stock with the later design w the welded-on flanges & use the shorter exhaust collars w the stock mufflers. Aftermarket headers usually have the earlier flared-tip design which requires the longer exhaust collars. You might be able to use the collars from a 77-80 650 as these models had the flared tips & the fitment would be the same as a 750-4.

Thanks. I mentioned the 650 in case there wasn't anything listed for the 750.
Apparently, they're still available from the dealer. # 92027-264. $3.75 each at partzilla.
I'm assuming oem are the same size as the black one in his pic.

Thanks for the clarification everybody! I have a Vance & Hines 4>1 set up on my 750 and I didn't realize the header fitments on the OE were different. When I ordered my second set from Partzilla the diagram they had showed the collar being the same size (approx.) as my old ones. Ordered a new set and should be here mid-week. Will post updates once I finish it.
