Zephyr exhaust
06 Mar 2019 00:34
Aloha guys.
I did some search but couldn't find what I was looking for. Does anyone here used, or know if the Zephyr 750 or any other model exhaust fit on our KZ engine? Mine is 82' 750 and probably will bolt on, but I know the frame are different from ours. So curious about the bent of the exhaust, mounting point and other small stuff.
Reason for me asking is that I can't seem to find my Kerker exhaust which has canister type silencer (forgot the model # or name), and I want to get almost same type of exhaust. If not Zephyr, anybody know who makes canister type exhaust for our KZ?

I'd guess yes, but that is just a guess. Another possible option is the ZR7 & ZR7S models. see pics.
I've looked into the Zephyr manifold for my 81 KZ650-CSR, but not sure about the fitment at the rear.
BlackWidowExhausts in the UK makes a Zephyr ss manifold. see photo.
ZR750 muffler system. Here's Andy-the-Gringos KZ650 w ZR-7 exhaust. I think the ZR-7S is the same. (1999-2005 ZR750)
ZR-7 or ZR-7S. same exhaust as above.
ZN700 Ltd Shaft Manifold. similar to the Zephyr 750.
there's a mounting plate welded to the cross-over so the manifold can be bolted to the oil pan.
Black Widow Exhausts. stainless steel. UK.
1981 KZ650-CSR w 1980 KZ750-E1 mufflers. direct fit. the 750E mufflers are 6" longer than the csr's.
just a pic to show interchangeability of exhaust systems. both have a center stand recess in the left side muffler.

Zephyr 750 header fits KZ650. I am a longtime owner of Kawasaki Zephyr 750, so when I started working on KZ650 project I have no hesitation about exhaust. My choice was for stainless header from Black Widow Exhausts.

Thanks guys. I now the exhaust will physically fit, but I'm more concern about the bend of the main pipe. Well, I guess at worst, I need to remove my exhaust each time I change the oil. Bit of a hassle, but need to pay a price for everything, right.
Guess I'll start looking for exhaust, Zephyr included.

Does anyone know if the Zypher exhaust would fit my KZ750-L4 as well?

All KZ650, KZ700, KZ750, GPZ750, Zephyr750, ZR7 header have the same spacing and bolt pattern and are interchangeable.

Since it fits the 650, it should fit the 750-L4. From Cmsnl.com the L4 has the same muffler system as the USA 750-L3. The L3 has the same #2 & #3 header pipes as the 81-83 KZ650-CSR & KZ750E plus some other 750-4 models. I took a chance & bought the 750E system above and the fit was almost perfect, if not exactly the same.
ps: with a non-stock system you may have to fabricate muffler brackets.

Fabricate brackets is the smallest issue.
Since GPZ750 should be interchangeable, does it apply to the R version as well?
What I'm asking is if this system would work on my KZ750?
