Lets hold a discussion on big cc street engines. How about a 1428 , how streetable would that be ? Perhaps run into overheating issues ?

Iam running a low compression, 1327 engine. The hottest ive seen my temperatures had been 420F. Iam running a cheater block also instead of a big block. Its suspose to still run cooler than a big block. Also everyone has no idea what it is lol. If it was me i wouldnt want to go much over a 1327. Any bigger might get a little to hot. Also you will probably need to dry block it, unless you dont mind it leaking oil. The power is aswome. It will smoke the tire off or stand up easily and iam running a 190/50/17 rear hayabusa rim and tire. Its stretched 4 to 6 over. Also its pretty expensive to go that big. Theres a lot of supporting mods that will need to be done like case boring, installing a bottom torque plate on the crank cap, studs and nuts, welded crank, backcut trans, ported heads, cams, carbs, oil cooler and fittings. The list goes on and on.

Please educate me. What is a cheater block ? Kinda sounds like something you're waiting for to grenade between your legs ?? Why not use a big block ? Why would you have oil leak issues ? Dry block ?? My old KZ was an 1170 and ran cool. I figure I'm going to build 1 more I might as well build a monster.

Does this one take a right-turn-lean somewhat better than your wheelie machine?

if you mean by "cheater block", a big block that is designed more for street use, with more cooling fins and no manufacture's name (MTC, FBG,STAR) cast in the side than I guess I don't have one too.

I have just recently put 500 miles on it and It is not liking the pilots I would think it would want. Its a process in the works of finding out from test rides and plug reading. Sitting in traffic riding thru town at idle speeds. It is totally different from the drag bike.

A cheater block is where you use a stock block and epoxy the center holes. Ive been told that big blocks run hotter. As far as dry blocking goes you plug off the oil passages off in the cases and head. Then get special oil feed fittings to run lines up to the head. There is threads on it. I would try searching for some of the stuff. It seems like its almost impossible to seal up a big block. Some say it can be done. Ive tried twice now with no luck. Once it really gets ran hard it starts seeping.

Alright powerstroke, thanks for the info. I'm guessing that someone like Star Racing is familiar with and could perform dry blocking and building a cheater ?? Geez if a big block is that big of a pita then I'll for sure stat clear of that. Nothing gets under my skin more than an oil leak, especially if its one that you have to constantly chase.

I had John Pearson from Pearson Racing build my block. He does excellent work.
