Turbo talk has been kicked around. I think I'm more inclined to stay naturally aspirated and keeping the cost down. I'm not so sure I'm interested in 250 hp on the street. It's been an interesting topic and educational as well learning the do's and don'ts of different street combos.

1075 turbo, THE street combo.
Cheapest way to 250hp at will that will survive on the street very happily.

I can't imagine the adrenaline dump you must get riding on a 250hp street bike when you twist your wrist....it has to be ridiculous.

Mine is 1075, head ported with GPZ intake, 31.5 exhaust, 84 GPZ cams running 20# boost at 32 deg timing on pump gas! Yeah, it's fun to put it mildly, nothing like 60 plus mph power wheelies, but a tic hard on tires and gas. Lol

I managed to empty the tank on my turbocharged Z1 in 30 minutes of 'spirited' riding. 3.5-4.0 gallons pushed through the engine by a turbo... roughly 15mpg (or less) - yes, they are thirsty... I only have mine set fairly mild - under 8lbs of boost on a 1200cc engine, but with just a 2" over swing arm, it will power wheelie in third gear at well over 70mph.

I like the turbo as it is fairly mild mannered when you keep it under 5,000 rpm - so you can potter around town.

What kind of MPG do you get if you just cruise around - or is it near impossible to resist temptation??

I can get 35 mpg on the rare occasion that I don't boost the motor to much.

Its next to if not just impossibe to stay off the boost! I've gotten just over 30 one time and can't say I've ever not been on the boost at least a little on every tank I've put in it. Have gotton as low as 10 while beating on it. It does way better than the rowdy 1075 carbed motor did on average though. It was on around 18 at best.

When the boost kicks in, it really is an adrenaline rush. You have to be paying attention and hanging on tight, and be very careful to find a straight and empty road.

While the turbo setups howl at full throttle, cruising around you don't attract the wrong attention as the bikes are not that noisy.
