Stock ignition timing, 'safe' nitrous shot?

What's the biggest shot of nitrous you can run in a KZ1000 engine that doesn't have the timing tuned? How big do you think you could go before you'd have to start upgrading internals? Just curious...

Yes really. Will a wet 40 shot pop it?

It may be allright for a very short burst but why try. It's a ton easier to pull some timing out than it is to tear the motor down to repair not to mention a butt load cheaper.

Be carefull. Use it sparingly or you too could have a custom artifact. No more than 2 second bursts. Or spend the money on building a rock tough motor

 Had a buddy bring me a head that looked a lot like that, wanted to know If I could weld it up. Bunch of spray and propylene oxide don't work well together.

For starters, if you're using OEM pistons, you'll blow the ring lands off :)

Getting MTC 1075 pistons soon, everything is rebuilt fresh, but no other aftermarket parts... Reason I asked about the timing is because I'm not prepared to sink the money into a big shot and the motor work that goes along with it, I just think it would be a fun novelty to be able to open up a small 30 or 40 shot for a few seconds every now and then. Not racing it or anything. Just wondering if I can do it reliably for fun. Also when it comes time to sell it'll be a little extra coolness factor for the potential buyer...
