Im in the planning stages of a big summer ride in '12. A bunch of friends I have all over the country are riding and going to meet somewhere central and were tossing around the idea of us all recording our rides and making a cool movie about it in the end.
I dont know the first thing about these new cameras. I here Gopro alot. Do you guys have advice where to mount...helmet, chest, on the bike? etc.....Id like good audio also. Can you run a external mic?

Those who have made videos, let me know your advice ;)

I've used a GoPro & a Camsport HD Max Extreme for my trackdays. If the gopro doesnt get in your way go for it, the Camsport is more easily mounted & its the one i bought. Pic quality difference is SLIGHTLY better on the GoPro but very little in it. GoPro uses an SD card & Camsport a microSD

Watch these at 480p, i couldnt get HD uploaded from the GoPro to youtube back then;

either of those 2 are definately the ticket if your serious about quality. I also reccomend a couple pair of the video sunglasses from ebay i bought a pair for under 20 bucks and have had a ball with them the video and sound arent pro quality but if you have both there are alot of shots you can edit in from the glasses I love mine for the money you cant beat it

Thanks for posting Steve,I've been thinking about getting one of these myself. I really like the image quality on the GoPro, much better resolution.

I use a Gopro hd hero cam...it takes good vids but unfortunately picks up a lot of wind noise. :(

Have a G/P stick on mount in place on the fairing and 1 on the radiator of the ZRX...but also have a G/P suction cup style mount and a chest harness.

Theres 20 or so vids here to check out.....

Thanks for the input guys. Its funny how you look at the Gopro website and the rave about how much they've put into designing the audio aspect of their system to give you virtually no wind noise, and the complaint Im hear from folks from other forums too is the wind noise :laugh: I am impressed with go pro so far and doing more research on the Camsport.
Thanks again

Just a note on the GoPro vid i posted, i was using it in the waterproof case so the wind noise would have beed reduced greatly. I still thing the Camsport with the optional mic on a lead would be the best choice
