This of course is a great Idea to have a big reunion of KZR Relay riders and KZR members.
Maybe more than one? I know it complicates things, but 4 corners might be out of reach for many of the guys.
As far as a choice of where to ride. Well I used to live/ ride in Colorado and know of some great roads. Any one every go from Moab to Gateway Colorado up over the gravel? Been there, as well as a Bunch of other back roads, and of course main highways. We did 1000mi just in Colorado over 4 days a few years ago. My buddy here in Oregon road over when I was still there. Got mates in the Springs, and Beautiful Ouray/ million dollar highway. So I vote Colorado for riding. I haven't taken a vacation since I moved and started this job 1-1/2 ago. By the time a rally is going to happen I should be able to swing some extra riding time.

YUP - a great idea, and one I'd be interested in IF enough guys committed to make the trip worthwhile - my wife and I would come by motorhome, tow the bike - and 7 MPG in the MH is too costly unless there's LOTS of attendance to justify the trip...

Can your wife also drive the motor home? Then you can ride some of it, maybe with me? There is some good riding to be had. I've posted in the past the route I've taken between Colorado and the PNW. Hardly a freeway to be found, the way I go. Scenic, well that's an absolute understatement!

NO, not in anything other than an emergency - gotta remember, we're not ready to croak quite yet, but with both of us pushing 80, not kids, either, and her driving the MH alone wouldn't be either of our first choices...;)

Got ya. I had a friend back in Alaska, yep lived there also, who was about the same. Never let the wife drive the MH. Would have been bad more than likely.
Oh well. Hopefully this Idea will get the Spurs to it, and be like the relay was last year, all hot and bothered!

Here is a link to the route/ride we took from the Omaha area to Jackson, WY. We retraced our steps coming back. Here is the link. >>> goo.gl/maps/Cki02

BTW, as you may know, Kaw-a-holic is posting in the NorthWest Leg Thread. Myself and others have been kicking an idea around once this Flag passes around to a few more KZ Riders. Will post up un momento.

I'm sure by the time you guys got up into the corner of Wyoming, the roads would have been pretty choice, and great scenery. Not so sure about NE, and beyond.
This Idea of a Rally in 4 Corners, well that's brilliant. Hopefully its an idea that will grow.

Love the idea. Don't know if I'd be able to make it out there from VA. But I'd be interested depending on when it all comes together.

That more great intel Upncummr! I like where this is going. I say we take our time and make plans for next year. The KZ Rider North American Relay Flag should have circulated up and down the West Coast by then. We can see which lodge is most advantageous. The lodge I mentioned has RV Parking in case some like Gary would RV out.

Motor Head, Gary, Kaw-a-holic and all you guys out in the N.W., Thanks so much for getting involved and keeping the interest & energy going. B)

AND Stag, Tough break on the timing for you. :( But cheer up! See if you can connect with goodfastncheap and upncummr if you are not already acquainted. They are both solid enthusiasts and stand up guys.

Topper, Hope you can maybe mutally trailer out with another KZ Rider or make an adventure out of it when The KZ Rally happens. You are always welcome at my home for an overnight rest if not too much out of the way. In the meantime, How bout those KZ Relay T-Shirts?! I will take Three(3): One(1)Mens XL, One(1)Mens L and One(1) Ladies L ! The Relay ain't over! Come on folks Topper needs like a dozen for a minimum run on those things. :woohoo:

I'm up for one XL shirt for me.
I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.

I am definitely interested in a rally at 4 owners or there abouts. Forrest and I talked about this in Wyoming. Looks like I might be moving to Arizona soon so that would make a great trip for me. All I need is a date and a place. Forrest if there is anything I can do to help organize let me know.
