Gary - K7GLD wrote: I must not be looking at the right maps - all I'm seeing are the maps with member pins in them, NONE with any suggested or intended routes from one area/rider to another. As much as I would like to see the flag soon roll past/thru John Day, eastern Oregon, there's LOTS of area and registered members NORTH of Boise/John Day, and what seem a more sensible route to cover those areas first, rather than thru here in John Day, then NORTH for Washington, and Canada - then BACKTRACK south thru Washington and Oregon, down thru California?

Just sayin'...

If you look at it that way it's just too confusing. Don't worry about the maps. The thing about these old KZ's is that they just RUN and it's cool to just take off and go like 5 hours on em with an occasional wave and a cell phone mime to the oncoming lane. I SWEAR, when I met TomW in Missouri Valley the ditches smelled like tadpoles and fresh cut grass. Easy ride, but a hard one down to KANSAS, and an even harder one to wyoming but Forrest and Jonz are on they're way. By the way, have you seen Forrest's green bike? Holy CRAP!

I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.

It looks like the flag will go into Oregon one way or another. It would be really good to not only see Washington included but British Columbia and the southern tip of Alaska. Just my $0.02.

Final check on the KZ this evening with blast off tomorrow a.m.

Thanks but No, we are not riding into New Mexico. Change of plans since Tom W. posted the original Leg 3 Relay Route. We are going Northwest and knocking out the mountain states that would be tough to cover in the fall and winter. New Mexico and even Colorado, Utah, Arizona can be knocked off by someone riding to the Four Corners even in late fall or winter. I think this makes sense. It would even be cool for The Flag to finish covering the lower 48 states at the Four Corners! B)

That's a good plan. After the NW leg is finished and the flag comes down to So. Cal. it can go east through the southern tip of Nevada, into Arizona and then to Four Corners. The relay will be completed. Can we do it this year? What do we do with the flag(s) then?

I'd certainly welcome the opportunity to meet you, and buy you lunch - but as far as me joining the ride, best not plan heavily on that, I'm still having ups and downs with this equilibrium problem - was back yesterday, but I'm pretty good today - just too dern unpredictable, but I'd sure like to put a few more miles on the KZ...

Don't route the ride this way on my account if there are others wanting to ride if the route went their way instead...

Gary, may well head out to Dayville this weekend for a ride. Not sure yet, but if so I'll give you a heads up. See how your feeling, if up to it maybe we can meet up in John Day for some Bull.
