Just a Little update to my Project bike build. Got the time and parts to put an GPZ1100 oil cooler on to the bike.
I had a vague guess i had some heat problems (Detonation), so i bit the bullet did what i have should do some month before.
It was a quick and "use what you have laying around here" fabrication that need some later fine tuning.
Let the pics talk:

What kind of fittings you are asking about DoctoRot?
On the engine or oil cooler end?

On the engine fitting OD: 3/8 " = 9,50 mm

On the oil cooler end you have to cut around the pressed fitting of the GPZ1100 UT oil cooler line because the pressed shell is hard solderd onto the fitting.

I got 1/2" ID fittings and drilled out the cooler inlets to 1/2". 3/8" is too small IMO.

Mama Kawa Heavy Industry had developed the oil cooler system with 3/8" oil fittings, so whats wrong to use it as it is?

The Scirocco is on the street again after 10 years of only catching dust. He eats a lot of time, labor and money to get street legal (TÜV approved) !!!
So he get some miles around our local great dams and bike meeting points on the sunny weekends.
It´s funny to drive a 800 Kg car with 180 hp and beat modern VW Golf RS32 Turbos at he traffic light and win the drag race......
