Pre-Project Advice needed-
30 Jun 2015 07:58
I am brand new here. I stumbled across this cool place while looking for.....Kawasaki a Motorcycle!
Any one done a inverted fork conversion(,Zx6 Gsxr6) on to Kz750 ?
Once I have selected a donor Front Suspension assembly, What will I need to modify , or replace to allow it to fit the Kz?
SWINGARM:
I want to use an existing Aluminum Swing arm from a modern Bike, It will be modified too retain its OEM dual shock suspension. Can some one recommend a suitable model to use?, suggested necessary parts/ machining needed?
looks like a set of (zx6) Forks are going for $450 or less, and I have seen many different Alum swing arms for $250 or less.It looks like a worthwhile modification. Better brakes are the icing on the 320mm cake!
Any thoughts on Running 17" wheels
Thanks for helping TFNG out !

There's probably a better answer. A ZX6/Kaw front end & GSXR/Suzuki swing arm seem pretty common.
The 80s GS1100 swing arms typically list in the $200-300 range on eebbaayy, but I don't know if they fit the 750.
SUZUKI 80 81 82 83 GS 1100 --- $197T ..... SUZUKI ALLOY SWINGARMS CALFAB USA KATANA GS1100 wow.
For a bunch of topics: KZRider search = Suzuki swingarm .... KZRider topic 1 ......... KZRider topic 2
I kinda wonder if a good fit size-wise for a KZ750 might be ZR750 swing arm. The ZR750 engine is based on the KZ650/750 & the frame is similar. The 2000 ZR-7 sleeve is 219.5mm. I don't know the sleeve length of the KZ. The 90s ZR750 Zephyr has dual shocks & a 237mm sleeve. The ZR750s have 17" wheels.

here is some front end swap info.
www.kzrider.com/forum/5-chassis/325862-triple-tree-custom-work
for swingarms you are gonna want to stay with the 600cc and under stuff to keep the pivot narrow enough to be made to work in your bike.
lots of folks have used the zx6/636 stuff ,as well as 600/750 gsxr stuff.
17" wheels and tires lose you some overall ride height, but gain you some tires choices.
what header do you plan to run????
sportbike suspension conversions run out of ground clearance pretty quick.
