So getting back on the KZ project...
In preparation for the rear swing arm I started fitting new rearsets. Ordered a set of Tarozzi rearsets from Fast from the Past and began mocking up everything.
Still need to incorporate the return spring and brake light switch into the bracket, and finalize the bracing and standoffs but the positioning works well so I'll call this a success.
Had to do a little bracket trimming but without much effort a quick mockup of the rear at ride height is starting to look good.

Also, what tail light are you using? Is it integrated with turn signals?

Thanks!
Tail light is from an 08 Ducati Monster and it only has brake light functionality. I need to make another bracket to get it further out on the tail. I'm using Oberon dual firing mini indicators front and back. They blend in but have great viability when in use.

Got a little time to get the shock mounts from mock up to fully welded! The upper mount will have forward bracing that will be incorporated into the battery box, and I'm still deciding if I like the rear gusset plate - but the bike is back on the ground so I'm happy...
On to the pics:
The upper mount (not finished)
Showing the rear gusset plate that I'm not completely ready to make permanent:

Nice looking work. Does that upper mount double as a trailer hitch for your boat? Ha ha just kidding. Looks very good.

No kidding. I bet it was a lot of work to add that dimple for the shock bolt.

Great design and execution...you have to have a strong mount for a mono like that. Better safe than sorry for sure. If you put a brace on the front like the one on the back you might have a nice place for a tool kit?
